Java Developer

My client has an opportunity for an experienced Java Developer to work on a short term proof of concept piece of work for about 6 weeks based out of our offices in Birmingham and with occasional travel to Athertstone. The role is to start on Monday the 4th May 2010.

We are currently looking for a Java Developer to contribute to the production of a highly available, high volume application making use of Java, XML, Oracle Service Bus and web services, ensuring the application is written to be highly performing and managing the productive use of development resources.

We are looking for someone who has experience of developing a high volume online application using java and web service technology.

The successful person would have the following skill set:

• Java

• Spring including:

o Core

o JDBC

o Transaction

o AspectJ

o Web Services

o Security

o MVC

• Java EE including

o EJB

o JMS

o JDBC

o JPA (Hibernate / TopLink / EclipseLink / Spring)

o Web Services

• Application Servers: Oracle/BEA WebLogic

• Oracle Service Bus/BEA Aqualogic

• XML

• Schema Design, XSD

• XSLT/XPath

• Continuous Integration



Maven

• Eclipse

• Knowledge of the Rational Unified Process lifecycle, activities and resultant assets



Experience of SCRUM Agile is desirable.


It would be a bonus if the successful candidate had the following skills:

• Oracle Database

• PL/SQL
